Before any sessions begin, an Initial Consultation is required. The consultation will take approximately 1 hour and will include the four-part Phono-Graphix assessment, in addition to the Word ID and Word Attack sub-tests of the Woodcock Johnson Reading Mastery.
Within one week of your initial consultation, you will be provided with a written report and graphs defining strengths and areas of weakness.
Reassessments are conducted at six lesson intervals to determine progress and areas that need strengthening.

Weekly Sessions
Weekly sessions, for primary grades through adults, are scheduled once or twice a week for one hour each. Our Preschool/Kindergarten Program sessions are scheduled for 30 minutes each.
Based on intake scores, your session will consist of work in the areas of Code Knowledge, Blending Skills, Segmenting Skills, Auditory Processing, Multi-Syllable Work, and reading.
During the school year, when possible, our therapists will tie-in your student's spelling words and reading homework with his or her CAL Reading Clinic lessons.
The reasoning behind this is two-fold:•To show the student that the skills worked on during our session can and should be incorporated into their daily work, and •To alleviate some of the homework of our students that are already struggling with reading and writing.
